witch hat atelier
starting with an easy recomendations, i just started it yet its one of the best discoveries i made this summer, its such a well written story, the world is wholesome, the way they approached the concepts of magic and witchs is so unique different than any other work i've read so far, it got really good charachters, with an incredibile event building, truly a masterpiece, this manga who seemed to be so cute and lite at first, rapidly took such a serious turn exploring complexe human concepts and making the reader doubt about each new piece of knowledge, each charachter, and the author themselves, lol, i didnt think it would be so hard to describe mangas to others, and this one is a really tricky one, just now, especially when i don't want to spoil anything, cuz every discovery is wholesome and intresting and capturing in this manga.
Mad
i will try to make the descriptions shorters, well this is a new
serie, it got like 20 chapter i believe, and its a total change of
mood from the precedent lol,
here in mad we follow Jhon our protagonist in a post apocalyptique
world, aliens have invaded earth, eaten 80% of the population and
reproduced enough to exterminate any form of life, only a few survivor
camps remain, and our man Jhon fercha, he is grown crybaby, insecure
and full of hate, trying to survive against the cruoty of that world,
after losing his little sister, well at least this is him at the start
before an unexpected turn of event,
i've yet not seen anyone talk about this one, even tho the art is good in its way and the story have lot of potential
Gachiakuta
this one all over the space especially now with the anime out,
we follow rudo, a kid living in the poor delinquant side of this
flying city, and who was falsly acused of the murder of his father, he
gets kicked out, barely survive the fall, just to find out that there
were people living in the underground, where people of that flying
city throw their trash all day long,
this manga got many plotwist, a really intresting story to explore and
world, and his main strengh ofc the charachters, everyones badass
everyones sick and even tho they got the most bizzarre powers, they
still manage to make them surprisengly dope, especially the MC,
imo it deserve its success for now
shangri la frontier
this one was actually a really fun read, its about our MC sunraku whos
a pro gamer in virtual reality games, but to put it clearly his
passion his to suffer trying to complete super buggy crappy games no
ones talks about, and then one day he tries to play a triple A game
made by the biggest studio there, and even tho his low level, his
experience with buggy games make him strong from the start of game,
ik saying this like this makes it sound super generic and boring, but
its actually really wel done lol, the story doesnt take itself
seriously most of the time, its really funny and comic and the
charachters are great, but then once in a while without warning you
get some really deep lore and badass fights,
so yeah if you're bored can be a good read, i actually recomend
watching the anime first, there's two saisons and its really good, you
can come to the manga later
also they tend to yappe a lot in the manga sometimes
Ichi the witch
getting to our boy Ichi, he is a hunter raised alone since he was kid
in the forest, rebato el ghaba, one day, the strongest witch alive was
fighting one the strongest magics in that forest, Ichi interfere mid
fight and hunt the monster himself, in a world where only women are
supposed to be able to use magic, and where hunting magics grant your
their power, he happen to become the first male witch ever, and from
there we follow his journey and his hunts on that world,
the story really got potential with this univer, and the art is really
good, the charachters dynamiques and relations too, and its fairly
short so i would recommend as a chill read
Blame
i suggest watching
this video
actually to discorver this manga, its a 4 minute vid by our guy piewdi
and that was how i first discovered blame many years ago,
to say the less, this manga is disturbing, yet beautiful in its mess,
i remember reading that the mangaka was an architect before starting
this manga, and it totally shows, the backgrounds are imaculate,
stunning, and we go whole chapters without one single bubble of text
now talking about our main character, Killy is a man of few words. He
wanders, seemingly endlessly, through a lonely, gargantuan labyrinth
of concrete and steel, fighting off cyborgs and other futuristic
nightmares, searching only for something called Net Terminal Genes.
And he has a very powerful gun, like imagine having two nuclear
weapons at hand and which he uses without hesitation whenever anything
resembling danger rears its ugly head.
oh btw, its really short so give it a try
My Dearest Self With Malice Aforethought
now this one is honestly wild from start to finish, like every time
you think you got it figured out, it hits you with another twist outta
nowhere, it’s one of those series where you’ll keep second guessing
the characters, their choices, and even yourself lol. our main dude
goes through such crazy shifts in personality, the kind of character
development that makes you pause and rethink everything you read a few
chapters back.
the story doesn’t shy away from some sensible heavy topics (wont go
into them here cuz yk and all), but the way they're woven into the
mystery and suspense keeps you hooked all the way. it's tense,
surprising, and honestly just a good read if you're into thrillers
that mess with your head big time.
i couldnt find panels to display cuz literally everything felt like being a spoiler, thats how many plot twists there are lol
Hells paradise
i picked up this serie after watching the first saison of the anime,
and damn i straight up got invested in the whole cast. ngl it's been
quiete a few years since i've read it so am talking from my memory,
and i remember really liking the charachters most of all, every new
person that shows up has their own edge, their own struggles, and the
way they bounce off each other is one of the best parts. especially MC
and his partner , their dynamic keeps evolving from prisoner to last
thread of hope to save them all, yeah man that got some badass moments
for it , in short the serie can be sometimes funny, sometimes tense,
sometimes just heavy.
the setting itself feels unique too, this strange island that's both
beautiful and terrifying, full of mysteries to uncover. the world
building and the characters shine bright.
and yeah man its made by the assistant of Tatsuki Fujimoto what else
do you expect cmon, and its got a good ending, anddddd the saison two
is coming soon i think
berserk
we're finally getting to the best part, the peak of peak, so peak it
even killed its mangaka, my glorious king Guts story,
i can go hours, days, just talking about berserk and its depth, the
way this story in a beautifly disgusting broken world, explore such
deep themes and philosophies, from love to friendship to trust to
brotherhood to betrayal to revenge to grief to hope to teamworking to
the very sens of union and fate and how our own will as human can
dictate our actions and how our choices affect the world and the
peoples and does such a thing as will even exists in a world with fate
choses its next monarch, then it boom goes to slaying dragons and
monsters all over the place,
man you've prolly heard about berserk before right so you prolly know
the big story lines already, so let me tell you about its impact and
how much of a worthy read it is if you're into this kind of depth in
stories ( plus dark fantasy ), this serie redefined a whole genre, it
changed percpectives, and pushed more than a single man to change,
take my word on this one gang,
now why is it peak you ask me ? im telling you : so we have the world,
super vast, coherent, 300 hunders chaps in and you still descovering
new parts of it, its just so full and there is something happening in
the backgrounds, you may be following the story of the mainland, youu
already know for sure there are things happening everywhere else in
the map and you just wait to see their impacts then boom everything
clicks up in your mind,
also the charachters, our man guts go through such a radical
development constatly evolving for better or worse through all the
events of the story, and he just sadly keeps going through so much
suffering i could argue he is the one who suffered the most from any
piece of fiction ever, and its just about guts yet, this aint solo
leveling, every single charachter from the cast he encounters got his
story intentions past desires and you see how they all try to deal
with them depending on their different personalities, i dont wanna add
more to this cuz i really realllyyy don't want to spoil anything about
this manga
and finally with a good world and good charachters, comes the story,
the story of our world and our main charachter within that world, and
again am limiting myself cuz i don't wanna spoil, but just let me tell
you again, its really not what one would expect picking up such a
serie for the first time, it starts with a man dressed in black, rude
and full of hatered, you don't understands what motivates him neither
what brought him there in the first place, just going around causing a
massacare, then the further you go, the more you understand, the more
you start caring, the more you start worrying, [is this about survival
? about revenge ? about being a hero saving people ? about fate ? is
this about ######### this whole time ??? oh.... wow ]
oh man i think about 5 years since i've read it and it just still hits
me that hard, and even tho the mangaka sadly died leaving it
unfinished, i think the serie is still worth reading it and going
through that frustration once you get there
we keep hope in those 2 chapters a year
so yeah idk i yapped a lot just read berserk gang
( also it inspired darksouls who inspired tons and tons of great
masterpieces and i think thats sickkk )
